One type of AI called Machine Learning has allowed us to build robots and self-driving cars, recognize speech and images, and even predict market trends (Bitcoin anyone?). AI has been classified into four types – reactive machines, limited memory, theory of mind, and self-awareness. Reactive machines are like one-trick ponies, they only do specific tasks without remembering anything. Limited memory AI is like a student, it gets smarter as it learns more, and can look back in time to see how things have changed. Theory of mind AI and self-awareness AI is still being developed, but they could have the potential to understand the world and even have feelings like us! Personally, I’m not sure if AI with consciousness is a good thing. Neuroscientists don’t understand how human consciousness arises yet (let alone ChatGPT). This raises a moot point if consciousness is generated by the brain through neurons connecting with each other, or if it is generated outside of the brain with the brain acting as a ‘receiver’. Don’t get me started on the Orch OR theory and microtubules – you’ll be here all day!
To sum it all up, AI has made our lives easier and has given us new ways to tackle big problems. And as it keeps evolving, we’ll see more and more of it in our daily lives. Who knows, maybe someday we’ll even have robots as friends. I, for one, am looking forward to it!
Can you imagine going to the pub with your friends for a beer and they are all robots? Come back Nostradamus – all is forgiven!
Artificial intelligence (AI) technology has become an integral part of our lives. It has transformed the way we live, work, and interact with each other. AI technology refers to the development of computer systems that can perform tasks that usually require human intelligence, such as perception, reasoning, learning, and decision-making.
Here are some examples of AI technology and how they are used today:
1. Natural Language Processing (NLP)
2. Image and Video Recognition
3. Recommendation Systems
4. Autonomous Robots
5. Predictive Analytics
6. Fraud Detection
7. Personalized Medicine
In conclusion, AI technology has revolutionized the way we live and work. From chatbots to self-driving cars, AI-powered systems have become an integral part of our daily lives. As technology continues to advance, we can expect to see more innovative applications of AI in various industries.
